Biswanath Commerce College owed its inception to the initiation of a group of zealous leaders, socially conscious and philanthropic people of greater Biswanath Chariali. Originally the college was established in the year 1987 to impart commerce education to the students Higher Secondary course and in 2007 Arts stream in H.S. course was introduced. The college authority in collaboration with the benevolent public, students and academic of locality decided to open degree courses in the original college. Finally, the dream came true in the year 1993. Now Biswanath Commerce College is almost full-fledged college with Commerce and Arts stream.

At present, the college is offering major courses in the subjects of Commerce stream viz. Accountancy, finance and Management. In Arts stream, the college is offering major courses in Assamese, Economics, Education, English, Geography and Political Science.

Biswanath Commerce college is located in Kalyanpur approximately 1 KM away from Biswanath Chariali Police point just south of NH-15 (former NH-52) at latitude – 26,43,40” N and longitude 93.9’6”E. It is well connected with black topped bituminous road with the rest of Biswanath Chariali.
